Above the smooth finished front surface preserved, a slightly raised fascia with the beginning of a concave molding. Probably from the altar of the Temple of Ares. Pentelic marble. Cf. A 1651 (Ρ 546). (Note also two small joining fragments of a band of guilloche ornament, found near this piece; as joined P.L. 0.185m.; P.H. 0.083m. Sent to circled marble store.) | |
