Description:   Preserved is outer half of one volute (the right as facing) with half of eye hole and part of abacus. Top surface preserved, sloping outward, broken at side so abacus molding is missing. Part of cutting preserved in top surface. Probably less than half of depth preserved (no balteus). Volute spirals formed by broad convex band, narrowing toward center, bordered by fillets. Deep channels between. Archaic.
Aeolic (?) or Ionic.
Beige poros with traces of fine stucco.
Context:   Well.
