Agora Object: A 678
Inventory Number:   A 678
Section Number:   Ι 907
Title:   Bracket Fragment
Category:   Architecture Terracotta
Description:   Preserved in three joining fragments is the upper right hand corner, except the top, the face entire and the whole lower part.
The head, with hair parted and waved, crowned with a diadem and bunches of grapes (so, probably Dionysos) is flanked at either side by a molded console carrying a crowning molding. Dionysos' neck is wrapped in what appears to be a roll of fabric; from this and from the bases of the consoles, depend three large leaves in a spreading trefoil pattern. Fine pinkish buff clay, slightly micaceous, unevenly fired; unglazed.
