Two nonjoining fragments, with mouth, nose, left cheek, lower half of left eye (a), and part of back of head (b).

Fragment a preserves face of African; white lines at closure of lips may indicate teeth. Broad, flat nose. White of eye painted white, iris left black. Fragment b is covered with irregular locks of hair.

A ring handle is now mostly broken away. Hard, pink fabric (7.5YR 7/4) with fine mica; shiny black glaze outside, shiny brown inside on fragment a and on part of inside of fragment b.
