Fragment of wall.

Nearly flat wall, with stamp within irregular sunken area with curved end: Φιλ̣[. Micaceous, light reddish brown fabric (5YR 6/4); metallic black glaze outside, with some dribbled on inside.

The stamp Φίλων is preserved on two 4th-century vases: a hydria of non-Attic type in Mainz (CVA, Mainz 1 [Germany 42], pl. 44 [2057]:8--10) and a pelike from Kerch (Zahn 1908, p. 72, note 30a). A later potter of the same name is known from a long-petal bowl from the Black Sea region (Zahn 1908, no. 35, p. 72).
