Body.

Full height apparently preserved; almost all of rim and much of body restored.

Ring foot; flat resting surface; convex underside. Cylindrical body with projecting flange at bottom. Decoration in orange glaze. Wall divided into two registers by broad band with narrow band above and below; these appear again at top of preserved section of body. Upper register: alternating pointed and rounded ribbed lotus petals, upside down, with dot rosettes between tips. Rounded petals have double edges and are decorated with dots. Pointed petals have double stems marked with zigzag lines and hatched interiors. Lower register: swags tied by round bows, with pointed lotus petal painted in at one point, upside down. Lattice pattern on upper surface of flange, band on edge. Hard, fine, very micaceous, reddish yellow fabric (5YR 7/6); dull, very pale brown slip (10YR 8/4) outside only, lacking on part of foot, underside of flange, and, except for a few crisscrossed lines, on underside.

For lotus petals see comparanda under 1512; for swags see comparanda under 1507.
