Hellenistic Kantharos.

One handle and fragments of rim and body missing.

Well-made molded foot; beveled resting surface; pointed underside.

Foot and underside unglazed. Scraped groove below lower handle attachment and below rim. Lower body horizontally faceted. Strap handles. On upper wall, white chevrons running right above white line. White stripe just below rim. Very micaceous, reddish yellow fabric (5YR 6/6); dull red glaze, peeling.

A number of unusual features: white stripe below lip, placement of lower scraped groove, lack of thumb rests, semiglazing, form of foot.

Note similar foot, red glaze, and white decoration of 1675, from same deposit.
