One handle restored; part of thumb rest missing on other handle.

High, narrow, flaring foot with deep groove in outer face; grooved resting surface; deeply recessed, flat underside. Slender profile with greatest diameter above half height, upper body constricted. Scraped groove well above lower handle attachment.

Comic-mask thumb rest. Decoration in incision and white: spiral wave pattern filled in with white below, based on three lines. At ends, one diagonal line with pair of parentheses, then two more diagonal lines.

First diagonal line has white dot rosette at top and two white fillets hanging down towards inside; area between parentheses white. Shiny black glaze, half missing.
