Floor and part of lower wall preserved.

Cup rests on ridge; pointed underside. Two grooves at base of wall. Conical profile with plain exterior. Ivy garland with white leaves on inside: stems incised on one side, painted on other. White zigzag and scraped groove around emblem. Bearded head, turned slightly to viewer's left. On head probably a lion-skin helmet, with lower jaws hanging down beside cheeks. Metallic black glaze outside, dull brown inside.

For shape and ungrooved exterior cf. 331. From closely similar mold, much more worn, 583 and P 21626 (K 7:1) (bolster-kraters). A bearded Herakles emblem appears on Calenian gutti (Jentel 1976, pp. 199, 205--206, 361--364, figs. 189--191, pl. LVIII); for a bearded Herakles emblem see Hobling 1923--1925, iv, p. 296, fig. 7:e.
