Floor fragment with start of stem on underside. Surface abraded.

Max. dim. 0.049.

I, symposiast. A man or youth (torso, thighs, left hand holding a large skyphos) reclines to left, chest in front view. His right arm may have been raised. Perhaps he was playing kottabos. Preliminary sketch. Relief contour.

For kottabos, see 1572.

The composition may have been similar to one in the tondo of Louvre CA 1585, a cup probably made by Pamphaios, though not yet attributed to a painter (ARV2 131, ---; Addenda 177). There, however, the youth is clad in a himation.
