On neck, chain of double lotuses and encircled palmettes (a little of each zone). Schleiffenbaum, Volutenkrater, p. 324, cat. no. V 203.

The pattern seems to bear some resemblance to that on side A of Bologna 17190 = 269 by the Niobid Painter (ARV2 599, 8; Paralip. 395, 8; Addenda 266; Prange, Niobidenmaler, p. 182, cat. no. N 9), only 245 is better drawn and slightly more ornate.
