Wall fragment from just below rim strengthened with plaster. Glaze slightly dull on outside. Max. dim. 0.12. Prange, Niobidenmaler, p. 210, cat. no. GN 22.

Youth (most of filleted head, right shoulder, and upper arm) standing frontally with head turned to left. He wears a chiton with a chlamys over it; a petasos hangs down his back. Preliminary sketch. Relief contour.

The youth is probably leaving home and may have looked very much like the one on Ferrara 2652 = T.740 by the Niobid Painter (ARV2 599, 6; Paralip. 394, 6; Addenda 266; Prange, Niobidenmaler, p. 181, cat. no. N 7, pl. 6).

Manner of the Niobid Painter (ARV2 609, 11).
