Maenads. Fragment a (illustrated) preserves part of the head, left shoulder, and left hand of a maenad to right, holding cymbals (a little of the second one appears at the lower left). She wears a chiton. Next to her head:

Fragment b (illustrated) shows the back of the head, the right shoulder, and most of the right arm of a maenad to right, wearing a peplos, a necklace, and a bracelet. She carries a thyrsos. Fragment c shows drapery. Fragment d (illustrated), the rim fragment, preserves diagonally addorsed palmettes. On the fascia, egg pattern. Relief contour: profile. White (flaked): inscriptions. Dilute: hair on fragment b. Added clay (flaked): jewelry.

In ARV2 1685, Beazley suggested that the second inscription was the first letters of the name Θυμηδι'α , which occurs on the namepiece of the Kraipale Painter, Boston, M.F.A. 00.352 (ARV2 1214, ---, 1; Addenda 348). There, it also names a maenad.
