Youth seated on steps of stele. What remains of the youth is a bit of his chlamys, the calf of his left leg, the lower calf and heel of his right. Two horizontal lines below represent the steps of the tomb; at the very top there are two more lines, perhaps the top of the step on which he sits. The lines at the break opposite the fold of drapery very likely represent the mouth of a vessel such as a lekythos, an oinochoe, or an alabastron placed on the steps of the stele. Matte drawing: pink outline.

Not from the same lekythos as 840 (see above).

The composition may have been similar (only reversed) to the one on Athens, N.M. 1959 by the Inscription Painter (ARV2 748, 3; Paralip. 413, 3; Addenda 284).
