Wall fragment. Max. dim. 0.085.

Woman at a tomb. The woman (most of head, part of body) stands to right, holding a long, narrow box decorated with a maeander pattern. It overlaps the shaft of the stele (upper left part). The box is draped with a fillet, as is the stele. At the top

of the shaft is an egg pattern, then the acanthus anthemion. Matte drawing: brownish red. Green for fillet on box; purple for one on stele.

The anthemion belongs to Nakayama's Group E-V: acanthus only (Nakayama, Lekythen, pp. 275--277).

Perhaps by the Painter of Würzburg 566. Compare, especially for the composition, anthemion, and drawing, Villa Giulia 43574 (ARV2 1246, 4).
