Title: | Shallow Angular Bowl: Linear
Category: | Pottery | |
Description: | Fragmentary Mycenaean bowl with two horizontal handles, small foot, offset rim. Undecorated on exterior. Interior decorated with red horizontal bands. Buff clay. ADDENDA 2018: Seven sherds mended into a single complete profile to a shallow angular bowl with a flaring rim and high ring base; only the handle is missing. The exterior is decorated with a narrow lip band and splashes of paint over the handles. The interior has a narrow lip band with a second narrow band running below it. There are two medium bands below the carination and a medium band filled with a fined line spiral at the bottom of the bowl. The paint is thick and evenly applied, fired red. There are no traces of use-wear. There is some staining on the interior, but this appears to be environmental rather than from burning. Furumark Shape: 295
