Title: | Deep bowl Fragment: Monochrome
Category: | Pottery | |
Description: | Seven sherds mended into a single complete profile and one non-joining fragment to a small deep bowl with flaring rim and horizontal, round-section handle and ring base. The exterior decoration is monochrome with a reserved foot and lower body. The area below the handle is unpainted with the exception of a single stroke of paint -- possibly intended as a potter's mark. The interior is monochrome with the exception of a narrow reserved band on the lip. The paint is thick and evenly applied, fired slightly unevenly brown to dark brown. There are no traces of use-wear or burning preserved. Furumark Shape: 285
