Agora Object: B 240
Inventory Number:   B 240
Section Number:   ΠΘ 9
Title:   Statuette : Herakles Resting
Category:   Bronze
Description:   The figure stands facing, but with the bearded head turned and inclined slightly to his left.
The weight is supported partly by the right leg, and partly by a tall tree-trunk, over which is draped the lion-skin, and on which the figure rests his left shoulder and arm.
The left leg is bent; slightly advanced. The right arm is bent at the elbow, the lower arm resting on the hip behind.
The careful modelling of the prominent body muscles contrasts with the careless execution of details; the features and the lion-skin are summarily indicated.
Excellent preservation.
