Description:   Inscribed stele.
One corner of the stele rested on one of the large marble cover slabs of the drain.
Broken away above and below. Left side broken, but preserved very close to edge.
Right side dressed with toothed chisel; above, part of a rough shallow rectangular groove. Back rough.
The inscribed surface is badly worn in places, especially below where the marble is of a sugary crumbly texture.
Praise of the Ephesians, their ambassadors. Mentions the election of a theorodokos. Possibly to be associated with a re-establishment of the Ephesian games. The inscription was set up by the altar of Artemis Boulaia.
Twenty-three lines of the inscription preserved, with a wreath below, enclosing two more.
Hymettian marble.
