The top finished as a good bearing surface, the under side picked toward the middle, lightly drafted around the edges. In the top, toward the preserved end, a large shallow dowel cutting with lead in its bottom. Inscription on front face: two lines. Hymettian marble. | |
Context: | Found in drain of a late Roman house, just southeast of the Tholos porch. | |
