Description:   Back part preserved.
Small knob handle at the back with single groove. In front of it a large shield, mold made in two pieces, and decorated in the front with herringbone sprays radiating from the base of the shield.
At the edge, above, three stamped circles. On the back of the shield, radiating grooves, with a single herringbone stripe from the top of the handle to the top of the shield. In front, projecting from the base of the shield, two plain knobs (broken below); perhaps for a hinge, on in imitation of a metall lamp with hinged lid (?).
Broad low ring foot; on it a stamped circle. Within, a trace of a palm branch (?).
Red wash, burned black in part.
Red clay.
Late Roman.
