Description:   Discus with bit of rim.
On rim, herringbone.
Discus, concave; a large cock occupies nearly half of the discus, his head bent down to peck at the nose of a lizard at the edge of the discus. In the field above the cock's head, a small animal, dog (?). Above the cock's back a filling hole.
Animals rendered in gouged technique similar to that used on bears, etc. in type XXVIII of Corinth collection, but fabric seems finer, and discus much more concave.
Unglazed.
Fine, micaceous, pinkish-buff clay.
