Description: | Broken below and at right, and the top of the grooved pierced handle missing. Preserved is the upper part of the figure, with the left wing and part of the left side of the head broken away. Eros sleeping, clasping in his arms a cornucopia or large cluster of grapes. Dull red glaze over all; traces of white on the wing. Brown clay. ADDENDA CG: probably Eros playing with animal getting the grapes out of its reach. If Eros was asleep, why would the suspension handle be there? | |
