Description: | Flat bottom; walls flaring to sharp shoulder, then sloping inward to plain lip. Large round spout, its lip somewhat cut away, set at an angle on the shoulder; at the back, a single small vertical handle, round in section, set on the shoulder. Matte painted decoration of large double triangles, on the shoulder, has disappeared, its pattern remaining where the paint protected the surface from white incrustation of lime deposit. A few short white strokes remain on the top of the lip. Handmade of coarse red clay gray at the core; red slip. Middle Helladic. | |
