Title:   Red Figure Cup Fragments: Type B

Description:   The principal fragment, mended from seven, preserves parts of the medallion, and of both A and B outside; nothing of the rim; part of the stem.
b) The mid-part of the figure on A.
c) Part of the handle ornament and a bit of the medallion edge inside.
d) Bit of the rim.
Interior, within a maeander border broken by checkerboard squares, parts of two figures, a nude youth, turned slightly to the left, his left elbow resting on a stele, and at the right looking toward the first figure, a woman in thin chiton with embroidered yoke, her left hand raised above her head in a dancing pose, her right extended, resting on the youth's shoulder(?).
A and B: wide palmette handle ornament, leaving space for but one figure on each side.
A) Nude youth, right, bending forward, his left foot on a high rock.
B) Draped female figure, right; in front of her a stele, behind her an embroidered scarf.
Relief contour generally for the figures; brown details. Faded color (white?) for a spray held in the youth's right hand, and a ribbon falling from the woman's left.
