Title:   Black Figure Amphora Fragment

Description:   The fragment, mended from four pieces, comes from the shoulder of a thin-walled vase. Inside unglazed.
Athena with aegis and shield. Athena's neck, and the shield-emblem, a lion, painted white; the rim of the shield red. Most of the latter color has disappeared, but where it existed the glaze has retained its black color, although on the rest of the fragment it has been overfired, to a deep orange. Careless and scanty incision.
