Title:   Black Figure Oinochoe Fragment

Description:   Part of the body preserved; four small non-joining pieces (the lower left corner of the panel; part of its left edge; a bit of the lower border; and a wall fragment). Panel bordered above by tongues, around base of neck, ivy band; on sides, a band of dots, with two vertical lines along inner edge, and one along outer. The full height and width of the panel is preserved; most of the center and the left side are missing. Preserved are parts of two fighting Amazons, facing each other; tendrils in field between. The better preserved figure, at the right, wears a short chiton (or corselet), greaves, and a high-crested helmet. She moves right, but turns back, with shield and spear extended to left. Of the left hand figure, only the head and right shoulder remain.
White for flesh, helmet-crests, and dots at their bases; shield device, and fruits in field. Red for hair over brows; shield rim, and part of shield device; line around pot just below panel.
