Title:   Black Figure Skyphos

Description:   Depicts seated figure with flute players and dancers. Mended from many pieces. Foot and most of bowl preserved; handles missing save one side of one. On either side a bearded draped figure seated on the ground, apparently with one leg extended, the other drawn up, the foot tucked under. A draped flute player stands in front of him. Beyond, on either side, a female, and a grotesque male dancer. Slight variations in the two pictures. Traces of accessory red carelessly applied. Summary work.
Offset lip, reserved line around top of mouth. Spreading foot set off from body by moulded band (reserved). Above this a reserved band decorated with vertical strokes alternately red and black. Resting surface reserved, also space within ring of base, decorated by two concentric circles and a central dot. Glaze inside red toward bottom.
P 1160 joins.
