Title:   Black Figure Bowl Fragment

Description:   Part of the upper wall with inturned rim, grooved to receive a lid. On the outside, part of the neck and mane of a horse or lion right; pendent hooks along the top, and zigzags and blob and incised rosettes in the field. Purple-red added on the mane, and on alternate petals of the incised rosette. Upper face of the rim glazed, with a reserve band filled at intervals with glaze blobs. The inside banded.
Attic clay with creamy surface, glaze black to streaky brown, slightly metallic.
Context:   Late Roman fill, above strosis.
