Title:   Black Figure Neck Amphora

Description:   Mended from about seven pieces. Most of base and about half of lip missing; small gaps in body. The same three zones of decoration both sides: vertical wavy lines; blobs; a pair of confronted birds, with short vertical strokes as filling ornament. The birds stand on a narrow band of glaze, below which is a broad band of added red and then the glazed lower portion of the vase. A broad curved line of red on the wing of each bird. No incision. Top of lip reserved, with broad cross-strokes. No glaze on inside of handles nor underside of foot.
Glaze streaky; black only over part of one side.
Context:   Rectangular rockcut shaft.
