Title:   Red Figure Bell Krater Fragment

Description:   Mended from three pieces. Fragment from wall of large open vase, probably bell krater. A partly draped, wreathed, figure (Dionysos?) is seated in a chair, left; over his legs falls an elaborately ornamented cloak; his left arm rests on the back of the chair; his right arm holds a tall staff. Behind him, part of a draped standing woman, left. In front, the hand of a figure, right, holding out a phiale. Above, the lower part of a nude standing figure on a much smaller scale (Eros).
Relief contour for most of the flesh outlines. Drawing glaze largely brown. White for the bracelet of the standing female figure. Shiny black, somewhat cracked, inside.
Context:   Well, lower fill b.
