Title:   Black Figure Lekythos Fragment
Category:   Pottery
Description:   Mended from three pieces. Scene depicts Herakles and lion. Comparison with P 1282 (coarser and less careful) suggests the drapery in the background is the clothing of spectators of the combat. A good deal of incision, including parts of contours (head of Herakles, back of lion); tiny incised strokes round the mouth probably indicate teeth. A pair of red lines in the reserved band below the picture.
