Description: | Four non-joining fragments, made up of many, preserve parts of rim and walls of a lekanis with double horned handles and flat slightly projecting rim. Restored in plaster. On either side, a pair of opposed seated lions, with dot rosette filling ornaments; rays below. Purple for lion's manes. Coarse incision for interior details. Pinkish-buff clay; streaky black glaze inside and for bars on lip. One side of vase largely fired red. | |
