Description:   Mended from two pieces; a bit of the lip and a piece from the lower part of the wall missing. Squat rounded body, small flaring rim, flat vertical handle from rim to shoulder. The upper part made on the wheel, but the rounded bottom added by hand.
Dark gray clay, russet at the surface, unglazed.
Cf. the larger pot (P 1260) of similar shape and fabric, from the Shaft.
Context:   Pocket (below Hellenistic fill). Pyre?
