Title:   Pointed Pyxis Fragments with Incised Decoration

Description:   Fragments b and c have been renumbered as P 1671 BIS a and b.
Fragment (a) three joining fragments and one large non-joining fragments (b) preserving part of body of pointed pyxis. Rim and base missing.
Conical body, shoulder curving inward toward missing rim.
Surface polished with good luster preserved in places. Incised decoration as P 1671: lower body with horizontal chain of lozenges. Toward base, succession of horizontal grooves (six preserved) traces of white substance preserved in incisions.
Fine fabric with few fine specks of silver mica. Fabric medium hard, heavy, with greasy appearance at surface.
Notes:   Deposit revised as H 16:6 (cremation burial dug in 1967) but on deposit list of H 17:4, consult JP (SD).
Context:   Geometric area outside house, disturbed fill.
