Inventory Number:   P 16816
Section Number:   Δ 766
Title:   Red Figure Oinochoe
Category:   Pottery
Description:   Base, handle and much of rim and body missing. A non-joining rim fragment preserves trace of handle attachment. On front a draped standing figure with extended right arm resting on a staff; profile eye, foot in front view. Behind him, uncertain object (halteres? sandals?). Narrow reserved line below picture.
ADDENDA Shape somewhat as Akistorides P. mug, CVA Cambridge, pl. XVI, 1, but drawing is later, ca. Shuvalov P.?
ADDENDA MF regards this as a good example of firing with insufficient water in the reducing phase; stacking kept the inside and the bottoms damper so the results were better (4-2-59).
