Description: | Almost entirely restored, but profile complete; part of one handle also preserved. Flaring [base]; sharply curved shoulder; plain rim, grooved just outside its edge; rolled lifting handles set vertically on shoulder. Entirely covered with black glaze except for zone decorated with rays above foot. Incised polychrome ornament: parallel vertical incised lines, the space between filled with purple, beside the handles; incised rings, filled by incised rosettes, all painted purple on the shoulder. Attic clay. Dull black glaze; much worn, on bottom inside. | |
