Title:   Amphora Fragment: West Slope

Description:   Part of body preserved with lower attachment on one handle and small piece of neck with start of vertical rim. Restored in plaster. Ring foot with broad resting surface; very low rounding body separated from short neck by ridge; above neck another ridge and slightly projecting rim. Scraped groove above and below pattern zone and around outside of foot. Cf. P 9074, with kantharos-type band handles.
Decoration in clay paint only: on body long concentric rectangles with cross in center, alternating with narrow panels of lattice pattern; laurel wreath on neck.
Dull black glaze badly worn.
Context:   Komos cistern.
