Title:   Black Figure Neck Amphora Fragment

Description:   Fragment from the shoulder of a large closed vase: amphora. On the shoulder above, tongues, alternately black and red. Below, three figures from a procession of divinities. At right, Apollo, right, carrying his lyre. At left, the head of a woman with her cloak, decorated with crosses, drawn up over the back of her head and held by her outstretched left arm. In front of her, a bearded male head. Red for hair and beard, worn; white for arm of lyre and for the woman's face.

ADDENDA a) As joined to P 19584: fragment from shoulder. At right, youth carrying lyre; then man and woman in chariot; then the wreathed head of one on foot.
b) ΝΝ 4990: Ostrakon fill, Nov. 1949. Fragment from shoulder with upper border of tongues. Below, the top of a man's head, the end of a goad, and the back of a horse's head.
