Category: | Pottery | |
Description: | Medallion, broken all around; plain black glaze on the underside. The fragment shows the head and shoulders of a youth who is leaning forward with head thrown back and arms held out in front of him, probably a jumper with weights. Above the head, part of the reserved circle outlining the medallion. Relief contours except for the profile from the tip of the nose to the underside of the chin. Wavy hairline reserved, but with a plain curved relief line within the inner ripples. The locks around the face end in fairly heavy drops of glaze. Glaze good; chipped. | |
