Title:   Black Figure Amphora Fragments

Description:   Six non-joining fragments from a panel amphora.
a) Shoulder fragment with the lotus-palmette band at the top of the panel and its upper left corner. Below, parts of the heads of four figures, three right and one left; one of them a warrior with spear and traveling hat.
b) Shoulder fragment with the right end of the lotus-palmette band, and parts of a head, left.
c) Wall fragment from the edge of the panel with the elbow of the figure from b).
d) Wall fragment; the edge of a shield, probably that of the spear-bearer on a).
e) Wall fragment; the rump of a standing figure, right.
f) Wall fragment with ends of hanging drapery.
Careful work, with free use of added purple and elaborate incision.
