Title:   Red Figure Calyx Krater Fragments: Inscribed

Description:   a) Head of elderly man, left, his staff or scepter crossing the field close to his brow. Hair falling over forehead and temples, beard and moustache rendered in fine wavy lines of white; thin double fillet, purple. At left, Φ (Phoenix).
b) Mended from two pieces. Standing youth, his right side preserved from neck to below waist, and the right arm with part of the handle. The right arm is drawn back sharply as if to thrust a weapon. The youth wears a thin short-sleeved chiton and a chlamys fastened around his neck. Very light dilute glaze for the folds of the chiton.
c) Preserves a trace of the start of the rim.
Lustrous black glaze, inside; careful relief contour.
Possibly some scene between Theseus and Aegeus?
Context:   Grave area, south cut, west section; fill b, under clay floor and fill d under clay floor.
