Category:   Pottery
Description:   Fragments of a Type B amphora. Essential parts are preserved to show the shape and decoration scheme; many non-joining fragments. Torus foot, a scraped groove at its top; the underside and the lower part of the outer face reserved. Top of rim reserved; wreath on the neck; sets of maeander interrupted by saltires below the picture. Tongues at the lower attachments of the handles.
A) Man to right, he holds a lyre in the right hand, stick in the left. Wreath, himation leaving the right shoulder free. He offers the lyre to another figure, probably a youth, of whom parts only are preserved. He stands frontal, left foot profile, and probably turns his head back toward the man. The youth is wrapped up in his himation.
B) Upper half of a youth in the right part of the picture is preserved. He is frontal, head to the left; right hand extended, stick in the left one. He wears white fillet and himation, which leaves free the right shoulder.
