Title:   Black Glaze Bolsal: Stamped

Description:   Mended from many pieces; large piece from the wall including halves of both handles missing. Restored in plaster.
Inside, around the center, small linked palmettes. Outside, two grooves at the rim; one scraped on the lower part of the wall at the point where tapering begins; thin foot with curving under-surface. Glazed beneath, with a broad reserved band around a central disc; the glazed areas marked off by five scraped lines, one near the outer edge and a pair further in, one at either edge of the reserved band, and a small pair at the center.
Glaze firm black outside; streaked and greenish inside; worn on the handles. Red wash beneath. Very careful work.
Context:   Fill between spur walls.
