Title:   Red Figure Oinochoe Fragment: Inscribed

Description:   Fragment from wall of a small closed vase with both vertical and horizontal curve. At the left edge, the fingers of an outstretched hand; or possibly the tip of a wing(?). To the right, an inscription written in heavy white paint in two vertical lines: ΑΛΚΜΕΟΝ ΚΑΛΟΣ. The paint is well preserved except on the second and third letters of the name where the stain alone remains.
No relief contour; inside unglazed; good black glaze outside.
Context:   Trial pit in Stoa, V layer.
