Title:   Stand Fragments

Description:   Two non-joining fragments of stand. One mended from three, the other from two pieces. Thickened, flaring lower rim. Finished edges indicating openwork, preserved on both sides of panel; edges rough at outer surface. Rim glazed; above rim, zone of rays enclosed by thin lines. Deep groove separates zone from panels, which are enclosed by double lines of glaze.
a) Rounded part of a creature with incised scales or plumage.
b) Panel piece flaring slightly at top. Part of ray, the groove and the two lines enclosing the panel. In panel, St. Andrew's cross through irregular diamond. Within each inner field, a lozenge with a dot.
Pinkish-buff clay; brown to black glaze, somewhat worn.
