Title:   Black Glaze Skyphos: Corinthian Type

Description:   Mended from many fragments. One handle and a fragment of the side (about half of which is gone) are preserved but do not join. In shape and decoration like P 2298, P 2299 and P 2301. Pink shows clearly on bottom. Rays rather careless. Two concentric circles on underside. Fine glaze.

ADDENDA P 2298: The thin steep walls have a slight incurve at the lip. The ring foot spreads until it is almost flat. Sketchy rays above the foot. Inside of lip and space below handles unpainted. Bottom reserved, with three concentric circles in dilute wash enclosing a central dot. All reserved surfaces rubbed with pink. Two red bands on exterior below lip.
Context:   Well; uniform Greek fill.
