Title:   Black Glaze Kotyle

Description:   Mended from many pieces; foot, one handle, parts of body and rim restored in plaster.
Short rays at base of wall. Glazed all over except between handles. Traces of white lines outside, just below rim. Below handles, two bands of applied purple between three lines of white. Above rays, two purple bands and two lines of white.
Pinkish-buff clay. Streaky green to black glaze, misfired on one side.
Attic, imitation of Protocorinthian.
For similar shape and banded decoration: P 23427 - P 23428 (ΣΑ 1917 - ΣΑ 1918).
Context:   Well behind Stoa Shop XVIII.
