Title:   Amphora: West Slope

Description:   Mended from many fragments; parts of wall and shoulder missing; rim chipped. Small amphora on broad molded ring foot. Everted, downsloping rim. Twisted rising handles; a large boss to either side of the upper handle attachments. Ridge at junction of neck and shoulder.
Decoration in added clay and white. On the shoulder, checkerboards and diminishing rectangles. On the neck, a pair of bands with a wavy line between; above this, a double line of scallops, from which rise short petals.
Good black glaze, much pitted.
Context:   Hellenistic fill, west end.
