Description: | Handle and wall fragments missing. General type as P 24316 (ΣΑ 2526): This is the characteristic general type for the large proportion of the lekythoi from this group. Bell mouth with variations in height and spread; lip usually reserved, occasionally glazed. Disk foot of varying thickness; below picture either one or two reserved lines. Added colors more or less well preserved. Only substantial variations are noted in the following descriptions. Top of mouth sloping outwards. Shoulder: dots above dotted lotus bud (skipping two). Scene: man reclining on couch, woman seated on it at his feet. Class of Athens 581 (Haspels (1936), pp. 93, 224). | |
